Douglass Street Residence

This turn of the century townhouse presented unique challenges including an uneven settlement in the foundation and a dark, compartmentalized layout that did not accommodate modern day living needs. By completely removing the interior of the second floor, a new living environment was created that allowed movement between rooms without having to access adjoining spaces. Architectural elements of the time period such as tin ceilings were introduced into a new aesthetic. More modern elements, such as skylights were added to bathe spaces in light.
